Terms of Use

These Terms of Use describe the rules for using BaliGenie in its current pre-launch and informational form. BaliGenie is the name of the website and project; no separate legal entity is being represented on this page. The site is not currently taking payments, selling paid listing packages or processing bookings. These terms should be reviewed again before commercial services, public provider onboarding or payment features are opened.

Site use

You may use BaliGenie to read travel information, browse available site features and, when enabled, interact with account or directory functions. You must not use the site to break applicable law, interfere with the website or other users, attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious code, impersonate another person, submit information you know is false, or use automated access in a way that harms the service.

Travel information is provided for general informational purposes. It is not a substitute for an authority responsible for immigration, law, safety, health, licensing or another regulated subject. Read the Disclaimer for those limits.

BaliGenie may change, suspend or remove features while the platform is being developed. A page existing in WordPress does not by itself mean the public service behind that page is open.

Accounts

Public registration is not currently enabled in the audited BaliGenie configuration. If accounts are opened later, users will be responsible for providing accurate information, keeping credentials secure and using the account only for lawful purposes.

BaliGenie may restrict, suspend or close an account used for fraud, impersonation, abusive behaviour, spam, unlawful activity, repeated policy breaches or attempts to compromise the platform. More detailed account rules can be added before public registration opens.

Do not share a password merely because someone claims to represent BaliGenie. Administrative access and provider access should remain separate.

Listings

The site architecture supports listings for stays, food and drink, experiences and local-help providers. There are currently no real provider listings in the production directory. BaliGenie will not create fictional listings to make a category appear populated.

When submissions open, a listing may be subject to moderation, category rules, required fields and verification appropriate to the service. BaliGenie may reject, edit for formatting, unpublish or remove a listing that is misleading, incomplete, unlawful, duplicated, spammy or outside the supported scope.

A listing does not automatically mean BaliGenie has personally inspected, certified, endorsed or guaranteed the provider. The exact verification status should be made clear when those workflows are introduced.

Provider responsibilities

Providers are responsible for the accuracy of information they submit, including identity, location, services, contact details, opening information, price indicators, credentials and availability. Providers must have the legal right to offer the activity or service they list and remain responsible for licences, permits, tax, insurance, consumer obligations and professional standards that apply.

A provider must not submit copied photos or text it does not have the right to use. It must not create fake reviews, misrepresent a relationship with BaliGenie or describe paid visibility as an independent editorial endorsement.

The Listing Guidelines contain the intended operational standards.

Booking/payment terms where applicable

BaliGenie is not currently processing bookings or payments and no paid listing products are configured. This version of the terms therefore does not create a BaliGenie booking, merchant or payment relationship with users or providers.

If booking, payment, subscriptions or paid provider packages are introduced, the applicable price, taxes, billing cycle, cancellation, refund, dispute and payment-processor terms should be stated before a user commits to the transaction. Those commercial terms should be added only after the relevant operator and legal structure are established.

Do not infer a future refund right or payment obligation from a feature that is not yet available.

Intellectual property

BaliGenie’s original editorial text, site structure, branding and other original site material are intended for use through the website unless another permission is stated. You should not republish substantial BaliGenie content as your own, remove attribution where it is required, or use the site to build a competing copy of the editorial database.

Provider-submitted material remains subject to the provider’s rights and any licence granted to BaliGenie for displaying and operating the listing. Those licence terms should be made explicit when public submissions open.

Third-party names, marks and materials remain the property of their respective owners. Mentioning a place, authority or provider for informational purposes does not transfer ownership to BaliGenie.

Liability

BaliGenie aims to publish useful and carefully researched information, but travel conditions, government rules, prices, opening hours, transport, weather, natural hazards and provider details can change. Users remain responsible for checking information that is important to health, safety, legal status, money or travel eligibility.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, BaliGenie does not promise that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every user’s circumstances. Nothing on the site should be read as a guarantee of a provider’s service, availability, safety or commercial outcome.

These terms are not intended to exclude rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Termination

BaliGenie may stop offering part or all of the site, remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, policy enforcement or product changes. If public accounts or paid services are introduced, additional notice and termination rules may be required.

Providers whose listings are removed remain responsible for obligations arising from their own services and dealings with customers.

Governing terms

BaliGenie does not currently publish a legal-entity jurisdiction clause because the project has not established a separate operating entity for commercial services. These terms do not override mandatory laws that apply to the site, a user or a provider.

Before BaliGenie begins taking payments, selling paid listings or entering provider contracts, this section should be replaced with terms reviewed for the actual operator, jurisdiction and commercial model. The Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Affiliate Disclosure and Disclaimer should be reviewed at the same time.

This page is a practical pre-commercial draft and should receive professional legal review before it is relied on for material commercial activity.
